Recognize the inherent hypocrisy of “conservatives” who decry government control of our lives and, at the same time, would have an organized religion (Christianity) dictate to people what they should believe and how they should live. Basically, it’s a fucking bald-faced lie.
Are they so stupid as to miss the obvious irony and fundamental contradiction here, or is it that they depend on the ignorance, weakness, arrogance, and fear of the people they influence? Such things are well conditioned into the masses, and so those in power can have a good level of confidence, but it is still a tenuous hold, one which, in reality, they do not control.
