If there is a “Conspiracy,” it is a conspiracy of fear and ego; they are the conspirators. It is a “conspiracy” of desire for power, wealth, status; a conspiracy of weakness, arrogance, and presumption. These are the ties that bind those who wield—and are wielded by—them.
People may not be able to conspire and organize on such a grand scale, but they do not need to. They are choreographed, controlled, by their fear and egos and illusions.
I know I am not explaining this well, but it is sort of the Liebnizian idea of harmonious movement combined with the Kantian notion of an a priori, “pre-programmed” way of processing.
The harmony of conspiracy comes from the nature of those things we call fear, ignorance, arrogance, etc. These things cause, and control, people to behave in, and be, certain ways, ways that will be similar in different people.
And so what looks like a conspiracy, what looks like people working together is really an illusion (which is, I think, what Leibniz was talking about). They are not working together; it is that the fear, the desire, the illusions, the things that control them are working on them in the same way they work on others, and so it looks like a conspiracy, but it is rather a controlled and manipulated marionette show. Take away the fear, the arrogance, and presumption—all the things that are wrong about people and our world—and you take away the conspiracy.
People are controlled by their illusions. They are controlled to be that way and do these terrible things they do. Without those illusions, without the craving and ignorance, they wouldn’t be that way anymore. Can’t they choose to still do terrible things? Well, can you choose to not have just read that last sentence? Can you choose to not have seen what you have seen? Can you choose to go backward and become a baby again?
